Foothills Rural Community Ministry: FRCM began in 1985 when five local congregations organized what was called Foothills Churches United for Action. They were the Presbyterian Churches of Holland Patent and South Trenton, the United Methodist Churches of Floyd and Stittville, and the Unitarian Church of Barneveld. Other churches, including St. Leo’s Roman Catholic and St. David’s Episcopal would soon join us. In 1992, the name was changed to Foothills Rural Community Ministry (FRCM). It is located in the "Twin Churches" - The First Presbyterian Church, located on the village green in Holland Patent. We have a thrift shop for gently used clothes, a food pantry, a pet pantry for our furry friends. Christmas baskets are distributed to need families during the month of December. During the month of August, we collect school supplies for the Holland Patent and Remsen School Districts. We also participate in the FoodSense Program. Each package costs $20.50, payable in cash or food stamps. Food packages contain 12-15 items including meat, fruits, vegetables, and grocery staples, with a value of over $40. The items will generally provide 2-3 meals for the average family of 4. The specific items in each month’s package will be published when they are available.Order directly from the CNY Food Bank using your credit or debit card and choose the closest pick up location, including here in Holland Patent.
